With 103 points in Munich, Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg x RegioTeam Stuttgart open the WNBL season and win away by a 52-point margin.

The joint team from Ludwigsburg and Stuttgart clearly won its first outing of the new season. At MTV München 1879 on Sunday, 11 October, they secured a 103:51 victory. All four quarters went to the visitors, who stepped up their offence once more after half-time.

In the first period the partnership already built a 19:7 lead. Munich stayed on seven points while Ludwigsburg/Stuttgart established a double-digit gap early on. It grew further in the second quarter: winning it 26:10, the visitors extended their lead to 45:17 by the break. After twenty minutes they had put themselves in a clear position.

The biggest offensive surge came in the third quarter. Ludwigsburg/Stuttgart scored 34 points in those ten minutes alone. The Munich side managed 16 and found their way into the game better on offence, but could not cut the gap. Going into the final period it was 79:33.

The visitors also won the last quarter 24:18 to complete a triple-digit opening win. Munich raised their scoring from period to period, but the partnership stayed ahead in every quarter.

Steals and teamwork

The statistics show how much Ludwigsburg/Stuttgart profited from steals and teamwork: 34 steals and 21 assists compare with nine assists on the Munich side. The visitors also led the rebounding 51:45, winning several key areas of the game.

Despite the clear result, the opener also offers a concrete focus for training. Ludwigsburg/Stuttgart committed 28 turnovers themselves, while Munich lost the ball 40 times. More security in possession therefore remains a task for the coming games.

For the Ludwigsburg–Stuttgart partnership, the first result is a convincing win in the national U18 girls' league. The third quarter with 34 points in particular shows the team's offensive potential. Delivering that level against tougher opposition will be the next challenge.
