Basketball is more than the game.
Why we do this
Developing personalities also means looking beyond your own world. We want our players to be aware that there are children facing far bigger challenges than a lost game.
BASKETBALL AID e.V. is a charitable association supporting children's cancer wards and club foundations, and promoting basketball in Germany. It has been the naming sponsor of our playing partnership since day one — hence the 7 in the name: Basketball Aid 7.
Our goal: one campaign a year with real impact.
What has been raised so far
at the first campaign in 2017, final in Kirchheim/Teck
in 2018 at the final in the SCHARRena arena in Stuttgart
of that went to paediatric oncology
The 2018 donations went entirely to the "Prima Klima" project of the paediatric oncology department at the Olgahospital in Stuttgart.
What we do
- We run at least one major fundraising campaign per season — "coins to beat cancer" is the fixed part of it.
- We promote membership of Basketball Aid e.V.
- We want players and parents to get involved beyond RegioTeam too.
- We push for our partner clubs to get involved as well.
