Privacy policy

We take the protection of your data seriously — not least because many of our players are minors. This page explains what data this website processes, for what purpose, for how long and what rights you have.

The key points

  • This website sets no cookies and uses no tracking, no advertising and no analytics tools.
  • Fonts, images and scripts are stored on our own web space. When you open a page, your browser makes no connection to third-party services.
  • YouTube videos are only loaded once you click “Play” yourself.
  • Our forms do not store anything in a database. Your details are sent by email to the responsible person in the club.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

Youth playing partnership (JSG) “RegioTeam Stuttgart – BASKETBALL AID 7”
c/o Franck Becker
Oswald-Hesse-Straße 49
70469 Stuttgart, Germany
Email: franck.becker@regioteam-stuttgart.de

For the processing of membership applications and donations via the supporters club's application form, the controller is:

Verein zur Förderung des weiblichen Jugendbasketballs in der Region Stuttgart e.V. (“WeJuBa e.V.”)
c/o Martin Steidle
Linzer Straße 61
70469 Stuttgart, Germany
Represented by Martin Steidle and Franz Arbinger

For any questions about data protection and to exercise your rights, an email to franck.becker@regioteam-stuttgart.de is all it takes. We forward matters concerning the supporters club.

2. Hosting and server logs

The website and our email mailboxes are hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. Hostinger processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Each time a page is requested, the web server processes technically necessary information: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, the previously visited page, and browser and operating system. Without this information the page cannot be delivered. The logs also serve security purposes, for example to detect and fend off attacks.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in providing the website securely and without errors. We do not analyse the logs to identify individuals and do not combine them with other data. They are deleted as soon as they are no longer needed for these purposes; the period depends on our host's settings.

3. Encryption

The website is transmitted exclusively in encrypted form via HTTPS. Whatever you enter in a form cannot be read on its way to our server.

4. Storage in your browser

The website sets no cookies. On the home page, a notice about our sponsorship brochure appears once per visit. So that it does not pop up again on every page change, your browser stores a single flag in its session storage (“sessionStorage”): that the notice has already been shown. The flag contains no personal data, is not transmitted to us and is deleted by the browser as soon as you close the tab or window.

The legal basis is Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act): the flag serves solely to display the site the way you use it — without repeated interruptions.

5. Contact by email

If you write to us by email — including via the contact form, which opens your own email program — we process your address and your message in order to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request concerns membership, participation or a partnership, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our interest in answering enquiries). We delete the message once the matter has been dealt with, unless a retention obligation applies.

6. Spam protection in forms

Instead of a third-party service such as reCAPTCHA, our forms ask a small arithmetic question. The question comes from our own server and is checked there. No cookie and no profile are created; the only data processed is what appears in the server log anyway for every page request (section 2). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our interest in protecting the forms from automated abuse.

7. Requesting the sponsorship brochure

Anyone who wants to download our sponsorship brochure provides their email address. We use it to contact you about sponsorship. The details are sent by email to our contact for marketing and sponsorship, Peter Detzel; the message also states which form it came from. Nothing is stored on the website itself.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time without giving reasons by emailing peter.detzel@regioteam-stuttgart.de. Withdrawal applies to the future; anything done up to that point remains lawful (Art. 7(3) GDPR). After withdrawal, or if no contact comes about, we delete your address. If a partnership is formed, the periods of that contract apply.

8. Tryout registration

Using the tryout form — on the “Tryouts” page and on the WNBL page — parents register their daughter for a trial practice. We process first and last name, year of birth, height and position (optional), current club, basketball experience, the parent's name and email address, phone number (optional) and a message. The details are sent by email to our sports director, Franck Becker.

We process them to organise the tryout and get back to you with a date. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps taken at your request prior to a possible admission to the team) and your consent as a parent or guardian under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you give in the form. Because the data concerns minors, a parent registers players under 18.

If the player is not admitted, we delete the registration once the tryout has been completed. If we admit your daughter, the details become part of the team records. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing franck.becker@regioteam-stuttgart.de.

9. Membership application and donation to the supporters club

With the online application you become a member of the supporters club WeJuBa e.V. or donate to the Friends circle. The controller here is the supporters club (section 1). We process name, address, date of birth, email address and phone number, type, amount and frequency of the fee or donation, account holder, IBAN, BIC and bank for the SEPA direct debit mandate, as well as whether you would like a donation receipt and whether your name may be listed as a supporter.

The application is delivered by email to the board of the supporters club, namely to the mailbox of its chairman Martin Steidle at Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW). The website does not store the application. For collection, the supporters club passes name, IBAN and amount to its bank.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: the data is needed to manage the membership or donation, collect fees and donations and issue donation receipts on request. Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR applies to statutory, in particular tax-law, retention obligations. We only name you on the website with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. The data is deleted when the membership or donation ends and no retention period applies any longer — for accounting records, usually ten years.

10. Schedules and results

Schedules and results are fetched regularly by our own server from the open interface of the German Basketball Federation (basketball-bund.net). Your browser only contacts our server — nothing about you is transmitted to the federation.

11. YouTube videos

Our video series is on YouTube. On the home page you first only see a preview image from our own server. Only when you click “Play” does your browser load the video in privacy-enhanced mode from youtube-nocookie.com. From that moment on, data is transmitted to Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland — at least your IP address and which video you are playing. YouTube may also store information in your browser.

Data may also be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. For the USA there is an adequacy decision of the European Commission (EU-US Data Privacy Framework), insofar as the receiving company is certified under it. An appeal against this decision is pending before the Court of Justice of the EU.

The legal basis is your consent given by clicking “Play” (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). Without a click there is no connection to YouTube. How Google processes the data is described in Google's privacy policy.

12. Links to other websites

The icons for Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, the buttons for sharing posts (WhatsApp, email, Facebook, LinkedIn), our partners' logos and references to the basketball federation are plain links. As long as you do not click, nothing is transmitted to these services. After the click, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.

13. Photos of players and teams

On the website we show photos of games, training sessions and events. We only show identifiable players with consent — for minors, the consent of their parents or guardians (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Anyone who would like a photo removed can write to franck.becker@regioteam-stuttgart.de; we will promptly take it off the website.

Parents can give consent via our online form or a fillable PDF. We process the player's name and team, the parent's name and email address, the answers on individual and team photos, and the signatures. Your browser creates a PDF from the online form; our server emails it to Franck Becker and stores nothing itself. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 7(1) GDPR (proof of consent). We keep the declaration for as long as we use pictures of the player and have to be able to prove the consent.

14. Recipients and transfers to third countries

Your data is only received by the persons and bodies named in this policy: the responsible people in the club, our host Hostinger as processor and — only for the supporters club application — LBBW's email service and the supporters club's bank for the direct debit. Data is only transferred to countries outside the EU if you play a YouTube video (section 11). We do not sell data and do not pass it on for advertising purposes.

15. Your rights

You have the right at any time to

  • access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • withdraw consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

Right to object: where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

An informal email to franck.becker@regioteam-stuttgart.de is sufficient.

16. Complaints to the supervisory authority

You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is:

Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg (State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information)
Heilbronner Straße 35, 70191 Stuttgart, Germany
Postfach 10 29 32, 70025 Stuttgart
Email: poststelle@lfdi.bwl.de
www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de

17. Obligation to provide data and automated decisions

You are not obliged to give us any data. Without the required details in a form, however, we cannot process the respective request — for example, we cannot send the brochure, arrange a tryout date or accept a membership application. There is no automated decision-making or profiling.

18. Changes

We update this policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
