Youth playing partnership since 2017

Who We Are

RegioTeam Stuttgart — Basketball Aid 7 is a youth playing partnership of seven partner clubs and one cooperating club. We make performance-oriented girls' basketball possible in the Stuttgart region.

How it all started

The foundation was laid in 2008: a cooperation between the region's clubs in the girls' game, to move women's basketball forward. The driving force was Danijela Bradfisch, then district coach. The goal — to give young talents performance-oriented training and playing experience at a high level, together with their clubs.

In 2012 six clubs formed the association "Basketball in the Stuttgart Region", and in 2013 regular training started with two sessions a week. In 2017 this became the youth playing partnership, with its own statutes, board and organisation.

Behind it lies a conviction: through competitive sport, girls should get a solid preparation for a performance-oriented working life. Intelligent basketball builds not only team spirit and tolerance, but also courage, self-organisation, discipline and assertiveness.

Our mission

What we set out to do

Developing girls

We develop girls as players and as people. Basketball development comes first, and personal development is inseparable from it.

Strengthening the region

We are rooted in the Stuttgart region and want to make it a centre of the women's game.

Working together

We live and shape the cooperation with our partner clubs and supporters — the project only works together.

Social commitment

We actively support Basketball Aid e.V. in its work for children with cancer.

Succeeding on court

U14 and U16 should succeed consistently in the highest youth division in the state.

Opening the way up

Continuous development from U14 to the youth Bundesliga — for girls whose home club does not have the squad depth.

Our mission statement

How we treat each other

  • We treat ourselves, our team-mates, our coaches and everyone involved in the RegioTeam family with respect and fairness.
  • Our players get regular feedback on their level and their personal development — and learn to assess themselves.
  • We take responsibility for our bodies, train and eat in a balanced way. Injury prevention is a duty for coaches, players and parents alike.
  • Players and parents accept the coaches' decisions. If we disagree, we talk about it directly.
  • We do not tolerate insults directed at team-mates, opponents, referees or anyone else involved in the game.
  • We take responsibility for how we present ourselves: we clear the benches and changing rooms without being asked and leave the gym only when everything is done.
  • Parents and coaches are aware of their role model function and behave accordingly.

How we are organised

The youth playing partnership (JSG) "RegioTeam Stuttgart — Basketball Aid 7" was founded by the partner and cooperating clubs and runs the playing season.

The supporters club WeJuBa e.V. — the association for the promotion of girls' youth basketball in the Stuttgart region — is a registered charity. Its job is to raise and provide funds for RegioTeam; the coaches are also employed through it. It is represented by Martin Steidle and Franz Arbinger.

Basketball Aid e.V. has been the naming sponsor of the playing partnership since day one.
