From the Regionalliga to the WNBA
Every step is within reach. Not for everyone, not straight away — but this is not a path that trails off into the fog. It can be walked, and it starts here.

Discipline
On time in the gym, phone in the bag, full concentration until the last drill. Anyone who brings that gets better with us — faster than she thinks.
Determination
Every player is given a personal goal for the season. We write it down, and we look together at how far she has come.
Persistence
The difference between good and great players is not made in games. It is made on the evenings when you show up even though it is not going well.
Seven clubs. One team.
RegioTeam is not competition for the home club, it is its extension upwards. The players stay at their clubs — and play with us in addition.
REGIOSHOP
Jerseys, hoodies and bags with the #regioONEteam — for training, for school and for the stands.

How an idea became a programme
From the first conversation between a handful of clubs to the youth Bundesliga. Eighteen years in which every step had to be earned.
-
2008
The idea
The foundation is laid: a cooperation between the region’s clubs in the girls’ game. The driving force is Danijela Bradfisch, then district coach.
-
2012
Six clubs join forces
The idea becomes the association ”Basketball in the Stuttgart Region”.
-
2013
Training begins
Two sessions a week, on top of training at the home club. Still the basic principle today.
-
2014
First appearance, second place
RegioTeam plays out of competition in the U15 Oberliga Baden-Württemberg — and finishes second at the first attempt.
-
2015
Champions of Württemberg
The association clears RegioTeam for regular league play. The first season ends with the Württemberg title and third place in Baden-Württemberg.
-
2017
A structure of its own
The partner clubs found the youth playing partnership with statutes, a board and its own organisation. In the same year the first ”coins to beat cancer” campaign raises over €15,000.
-
2018
€25,170 and a title
The second campaign at the SCHARRena arena in Stuttgart beats the previous year by more than €10,000 — all of it going to paediatric oncology at the Olgahospital. The U16 becomes Baden-Württemberg champion.
-
2019
First bronze at the German Championship
The U14 is the first RegioTeam side to reach the TOP4 of the German Championships and takes the bronze medal.
-
2020
The Bundesliga
The U18 wins the long-awaited qualification for the WNBL, the women’s youth Bundesliga, in its own gym.
-
2022
Playoffs and a second bronze
The U18 reaches the playoffs in its first WNBL season, and the U14 takes bronze at the German Championship for the second time.
-
2023
The partnership grows
TV 89er Zuffenhausen joins as a partner club. The U16 becomes Baden-Württemberg and South-West German champion and finishes fifth at the TOP8 of the German Championships.
-
2024
Bronze in Würzburg
The U16 wins bronze at the TOP8 of the German Championships, and the U18 reaches the WNBL quarter-finals.
-
2025
Runners-up in the Regionalliga
The U14 finishes second in the Jugend-Regionalliga and third at the South-West German Championships.
-
2026
Together with Ludwigsburg
RegioTeam enters a long-term cooperation with BSG Basket Ludwigsburg. The joint team qualifies for the WNBL season 2026/2027.
coins to beat cancer
Basketball is more than the game. At every home game our campaign collects for the fight against cancer.
