A newly formed team, the first game of the season and a clear win straight away: RegioTeam Stuttgart's U14w opened their Youth Regionalliga campaign with an 82:50 home win over BBU 01 Ulm. On Saturday, 26 September 2026, the team coached by Mara Eberwein and Lukas Passon got off to a promising start. Tip-off was as early as 9:30 am in the sports hall of the Friedrich-Eugen-Gymnasium in Stuttgart.
After the first quarter the gap was still manageable. RegioTeam led 18:13, with Ulm keeping pace. The second quarter made the decisive difference: while the visitors scored seven points, the Stuttgart players put up 24. At half-time the scoreboard showed a clear 42:20 lead.
After the break RegioTeam extended its lead even further. The hosts took the third quarter 22:14 and went into the final period leading 64:34. The last ten minutes were more even again, but Stuttgart won that quarter too, 18:16. Four quarters won and a final score of 82:50 – a successful first step for the newly assembled team.
Seven clubs. One team.
Behind this team is an idea that goes far beyond a single result: seven clubs join forces to give girls from the region a pathway in performance basketball. The partnership includes SV 1887 Möhringen, KSG Gerlingen, SV Böblingen, TSV Steinenbronn, BBC Stuttgart, VfL Waiblingen and TV 89er Zuffenhausen. United by the idea of “Seven clubs. One team.”, players from different club backgrounds grow together as athletes.
They stay connected to their home clubs. RegioTeam complements the training there with additional sessions and game experience at Regionalliga level. At the heart of the RegioTeam philosophy are discipline, personal development goals and the willingness to keep going after setbacks. Young players are meant to learn to take responsibility, grow together through challenges and find their own path in youth performance sport.
Support for the next step
For this programme to keep growing, it also needs support beyond the court. RegioTeam is therefore hoping for regional companies that want to back young women's sport. We are looking for sponsors and partners from a range of industries – with financial support, in-kind contributions or services in areas such as mobility, equipment and training operations. The goal is clear: to make RegioTeam more professional and to improve conditions for the players and the coaching team for the long term.
This website is part of that too. It showcases the teams, their development and the people behind the project, and gives sponsors a prominent platform for their commitment. Companies from the region get the chance to support women's performance sport early on and to actively shape its next stage of development.
